Dingwall Leisure Centre
*

Opened: 1990
Dingwall's climbing wall is housed in the Dingwall Leisure Centre, just outside the town centre. The leisure centre itself, although some 25 years old, looks modern and offers a good range of facilities, however, the small bouldering wall is very limited and basic. When an extension was built in 1990, there was a small corridor of dead space upstairs. Well lit, with natural lighting it's a nice wee spot, but the wall, which is basically a flat corridor wall with some holds bolted onto it, is very uninspiring. A Rock Gym finger board is also located upstairs, as are two pull-up holds, so between the traverses, finger board and a work out in the Fitness Room a training work out can be had if you're motivated.
Overall verdict:
A very limited bouldering facility, which is uninspiring.
How to get there:
By bus: from the Town Centre, catch a number 27 which passes the leisure centre, or a number 25 which stops at the main road below the centre.
By train: Dingwall is a main stop on the train line from Inverness.
By car: From the A835 (main Inverness to Ullapool road), follow signs into Dingwall (A834). Stay on the A834 (towards Wick) by passing the Town Centre, for about ½ mile. Just after a railway crossing, you'll see the Swimming Pool and Sports Centre on the left on Tulloch Avenue.
